What You Need to Apply

For NSFAS application 2025 funding, students will need to meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be a prospective or current student registered at a public university or TVET college.
• Have a combined household income of no more than R350,000 per year.
• Students with disabilities may qualify with a household income of up to R600,000 per year.

Additionally, students who have already obtained a qualification through NSFAS funding will not be eligible for funding for a second qualification.

Required Documents

Make sure to have the following documents ready for your NSFAS application 2025:

1. A certified copy of your ID.
2. Your parents’ or guardian’s ID copies if they are supporting you.
3. A valid cellphone number and email address.
4. Proof of your household’s income, such as pay slips or affidavits (if unemployed).

If you are already receiving NSFAS funding, remember that you need to renew your funding application every academic year, and your academic performance will be reviewed to ensure you remain eligible.
